Basic Education in the Arts
In the units providing basic education in the arts under Raahe-opisto, children and young people can study visual arts or crafts in a structured and goal-oriented way. The studies progress annually and develop students’ artistic skills and expression.
The teaching follows the national core curriculum for basic education in the arts. It is possible to obtain a final certificate from the art school after approximately 9 years of study or 500 hours of instruction. Teaching is provided at Kuvataidekoulu Purje (School of Visual Arts Purje) and Käsityökoulu Solmu (School of Crafts Solmu).

Payment information
Pupils may be charged reasonable fees for the education.
The instruction is subject to a fee. The course fee includes the necessary materials and is invoiced in two instalments (autumn and spring). Up-to-date information on course fees is available from Raahe-opisto.
Access to the Raahe Institute’s basic education in the arts facilities is via entrance C. The sports halls are also accessed via entrance C. Access to the Raahe Institute’s language courses, weaving workshop, ceramics and upholstery facilities is via entrance A.
